Beulah Heights School Maize is growing
The really good news this month is that the Maize planted last year at Beulah Heights is now growing. While food is still in very short supply and many children are getting very little to eat, if anything each day, the maize planted on the school fields should provide some hope for the future.
Maize with the school building is in the background.
The school has just managed to re-open following the closure of virtually every school in Zimbabwe in the wake of the second round of elections last year. We are waiting to hear from the other schools we support. We have sent money which would have been paying school fees to buy food instead. Zimbabwe’s children are the innocent victims of the power struggle in the country.

The volunteer programme is ready to receive it’s first volunteers. We would like to send a small group out to Moi’s Bridge later this year. This would test the infrastructure we have put in place. The volunteers would be working with the school and local community. The work will enrich the lives of vulnerable children, many of whom are orphans.
When circumstances change we will be extending this programme back into Zimbabwe where the majority of our work is.
The volunteer accommodation has four bedrooms, a living room and kitchen. It is 10 minutes walk from the Waymarks Education Centre. It is there that volunteers could support the dedicated staff, who work with the children there. There are other community projects just waiting for volunteers.

Aid2Africa.co.uk Ltd was registered on the 2nd February 2007
This was the first step towards establishing the charity. It was May 2nd when we gained registration as a charity with the Charities Commission. Next month we will be writing our first annual report and sending all the reports and accounts to the Charities Commission and to Companies House. The year has been very eventful with new projects with old and new friends. Someone emailed recently and said “I like the grassroots feel of your organization…” We like to think that we are a growing international family. We have supporters in many countries across the globe, who take an interest in the work we are doing. Some support our work financially which is why Beulah Heights School is now open.
